The ASA Annual Meeting has been scheduled for October 19 through 23 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. With an emphasis on the human side of professional medicine, the meeting will be highlighted by a keynote address from Dr. Abraham Verghese, who will discuss the ways emerging technologies can positively influence the relationship between physician and patient.
The more than 14,000 clinicians and industry leaders anticipated to attend the meeting can further enhance their knowledge through educational tracks, lectures, workshops, and abstract presentations. Resident and fellow tracks have been developed to assist in preparing for oral board examinations and making an impact on global health, among other subjects.
Tracks for medical students include evaluations of potential residencies and insight into effective interviewing tactics. Main conference sessions will include Snap Talk: Controversies in Anesthesiology, and Less Jolts from Your Volts: Electrical Safety in the OR.
